Spirit Days

2017-18

Franklin Spirit days will be held each month on the first Friday we are in school, starting in November.

Nov. 17th Hats off to Outdoor Learning Day

Students are encouraged to wear a hat to school and their teacher will find a time during the day to learn something outside!  Students are expected to respect each other’s property and hats may have some restrictions within classrooms or the playground depending on that respect level.

Dec 1st Crazy Hair Day

Students are encouraged to find a way to make their hair look or feel crazy.  Please use common sense in decorating and with any accessories that are a part of that decoration.

Jan. 12th Board Games and Books Day

Students are encouraged to bring a favorite board game to school or a favorite book.  Students who wish to show even more spirit can dress like a character in the book or the board game they are bring in to school.

Feb. 2nd Backwards Day

Students have always had fun wearing shirts, sweatshirts and jackets backwards on this spirit day and the adventurous few also wear pants backwards!  Please do not attempt to wear footwear backwards or on the wrong feet, as this is both uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous.

Mar. 2nd Sports Team Logo or Color Day

Students who have a favorite sports team are encouraged to wear logo wear or colors for that/those team(s).  Those who prefer to count the school as the best team possible, can wear Franklin colors or anything with a falcon on it!

Apr. 13th Pajama & Stuffed Animal Day

For this classic day all members of our learning community are encouraged to wear PJs to school, and can also bring a stuffed animal to school with them.  Common sense is your limiting guideline, so please wear footwear that helps you navigate the day safely (no bare feet, slippers, or flip flops). Students are expected to respect each other’s property and stuffed animals may have some restrictions within classrooms or the playground depending on that respect level.

May 4th Movie Day

Students are encouraged to dress up as a favorite movie character.  In addition, on this day your teacher will devote a portion of the day to watching a movie that makes sense within the framework of what you are learning about at that point in the year!

June 1st Fun Friday Dress-up Day

This new day is imagined by our current student council as a combination of the other days or any other way you might want to dress up for the day.  For example: You may have both crazy hair and wear pajamas.  Warning… our dress code will still be in effect- no violent pictures, hate speech, or age-inappropriate clothes should be worn.  Common sense is your limiting guideline, so please wear footwear that helps you navigate the day safely (no bare feet, slippers, or flip flops).
