Any volunteers who may supervise students outside the presence of certified staff must go through this procedure.
Click here to read AUSD's Livescan Procedures for Volunteers and remember that it will take some time, so don't leave it for the last minute!
My name is Lisa Gonzalves and I'm the Adult ESL Lead Teacher at Alameda Adult School. Alameda Adult is now located at the Educational Options campus at 1900 3rd Street, on the west end. We offer both morning and evening English classes at six different levels. One of our goals is to provide more ESL classes to parents and family members of the children in our district.
In the short term, we want to make sure every limited English speaking family knows about our classes. Longer term, I want to open a dialogue about how the Adult ESL program and other AUSD schools can collaborate to jointly assist our local immigrant families. Obviously, there are many ways in which our work complements each other to help our families move forward, and I believe that together we can strengthen our respective work. So, please pass my information on to your ESL (lead) teachers/coordinators, any family outreach staff you may have, or get in touch yourself so that we can at least say hello! You now have my email and my cell is (510) 593-0452. If you would like some flyers about registering for our classes for your office, I can drop them off or put them in district mail anytime.
