Welcome Back

2017-2018 Annual Back-to-School Registration

AUSD uses Back-to-School Registration every year to confirm that a student will be attending a district school in the upcoming school year. The registration also gives parent/guardians a chance to update emergency contacts, acknowledge annual authorizations, and review the district’s policies. We ask that parent/guardians complete the registration via our InfoSnap online system as soon as possible.

To get started, you will need your student’s unique 2017-18 SnapCode. We will send these out by email starting July 26. (If we don’t have a valid email, we will send the SnapCode to you via postal mail.) If you do not receive this information by August 7, please contact your student’s school site directly for assistance. The easiest way to access registration is to click the snapcode link in the email. If you receive a letter or need to log back into InfoSnap click here:

Please visit the AUSD website regularly for important information regarding the start of school!

Your child's confidence depends on yours!

Join School Smarts, our school community’s annual parent education workshop.

School Smarts is a free seven-week course that helps families learn tangible ways to help their children succeed in school. It's a great way to meet other families, talk about childhood development, learn how our school system works, and share ideas on how to keep your child encouraged, learning, and confident.

Classes are held at Franklin on Thursday evenings, October 5 through November 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Dinner and childcare for school-aged children are included. Register at http://bit.ly/Register4SchoolSmarts or fill out a paper enrollment form (on the PTA table in the front hall) and return it to the Franklin office. Sign up now - spaces are limited.

LCAP Parent Survey

Parents and Guardians,

Please take a moment to complete AUSDs Parent/Guardian Survey.

As part of our work to improve our educational services, we're asking AUSD families to take a brief survey about their experiences with our schools.  The deadline to submit your feedback 5/26/17.

Common Core Test News From the District Office

Our "Common Core Assessments" web page offers a wealth of information on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), also known as the "Common Core Test" or "Smarter, Balanced Test." Please visit the page to find an FAQ about CAASPP, links to      layperson-friendly websites about the assessment, and other resources. Families will also be receiving information about understanding the test results in the mail when the individual student reports are sent out. The state has not yet sent AUSD those reports, but we expect to receive them sometime in September.

Message from the Principal: Upcoming CAASPP Testing for Grades 3, 4, & 5

The CAASPP Testing will be conducted during the month of May. Please have your child well-rested, fed, and ready for optimum performance.  If you don’t receive more information on testing dates, please contact your child’s teacher.

Parents:  The California Education Code Section 60615 states that parents/guardians may annually submit a written request to the principal of their student’s school if they do not wish to have their student take any or all tests.  If a parent or guardian submits an exemption request after testing has begun, any test(s) completed before the request is submitted will be scored and the results reported to the parent or guardian and included in the pupil’s records.  AUSD teachers and schools support students to do well on the tests and help them learn test-taking skills that will enable them to be successful throughout their school career and beyond.  We encourage parents to contact their child’s teacher or principal with any concerns they may have about the test before they request that their student be excluded from taking the test(s).
